A Practical Guide to Buying Replacement Auto Parts
A clear parts inquiry reduces unnecessary back-and-forth and helps your supplier identify the intended application.
Information
A clear parts inquiry reduces unnecessary back-and-forth and helps your supplier identify the intended application.
Begin with the original part number. Record every readable OE marking and the supplier SKU when available. A vehicle make and model alone can cover several different configurations.
Check the production period, engine or body variant and required side. Photograph the existing part from the front and rear, including its connectors and mounting points.
Confirm the supply scope before comparing quotations. Assemblies may include different brackets, motors, modules or accessory pieces. Compare equivalent configurations.
Prepare a quantity list and delivery destination. State your packing and labelling preferences, then confirm the final quotation, availability and transport arrangements.
